4 Totally Awesome Ways To Experience Malibu

Summer is almost over, well kinda. But, before we ride off into the proverbial sunset, let’s take a drive up the coast.

If you’re feeling adventurous but don’t want the *sometimes* pretention that’s found in the heart of the City of Angels, Malibu is your spot!

You get the best of everything in Malibu – the active beaches, great views of the ocean, low-key cafes, some of the most expensive homes in California, and an otherwise relaxed environment.

Malibu is also just a short drive to Santa Monica Pier so you could hit up Malibu and Santa Monica in one day. A little beach lounging during the day and the Santa Monica Pier at night…sounds like the perfect date to me! Here are 4 different ways to enjoy Malibu:

Beach Please

Go to the beach...OBVS! Malibu boasts some of the prettiest beaches in California, and among them, Zuma Beach is the place to be. Want an exciting day outdoors? You have everything you need, whether you want to climb a rock, surf, swim or just relax in the sun. While you're there check out all the great nearby restaurants with beautiful views or hike the ridge to watch the seals.

Speaking of great restaurants with beautiful views, Paradise Cove is at the top of the list! It's Malibu’s only restaurant that comes with its own private beach and cove. It's family friendly, provides umbrellas and lounge chairs, (and did I mention it's a PRIVATE COVE?!), has a restaurant on the sand, and the best part is, you can stay as long as you want.

Another restaurant must is the Malibu Farm Restaurant. It's a fresh farm-to-table food experience, and is situated right on the pier overlooking pacific ocean. Come for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or grab a cocktail and sit by the pier and watch the surfers.

Getty Villa

If you're not feeling the beach and want to escape to another world, the world renowned Getty Villa is for you. It's an educational center and museum dedicated to the study of the arts and cultures of ancient Greece and Rome so you literally feel like you're exploring the streets of Europe.

The Villa also has live outdoor performances, indoor play readings, and kid's educational events, and the best part, admission is free!

Malibu Tasting Room

Malibu + wine tasting? Seems like a no-brainer, right?! The Malibu Wines Tasting Room is located on Mulholland Highway and provides a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy wine tasting. Go on the weekend if you want to have fun listening to live music and eating at the featured food trucks.

Want a more romantic feel? Pack a picnic and some non-alcoholic beverages and throw your own soiree! (don't forget the playlist that gives you all the feels!).
